Dr. Mehnaz Zafar Ali is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical lead for Community Psychiatry Services at Al Amal hospital, under Emirates Health Services (EHS). She also serves as Associate professor of Psychiatry at University of Sharjah and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid University. She has accomplished her MD in Psychiatry, MRCPsych from UK and American Board Certification in Community Psychiatry. Her extensive contributions to global mental health advocacy are reflected in her international roles as Director at Large at the World Federation of Mental Health and middle eastern representative for the World Health Organization. Dr. Zafar has been elected as Co-Chair of Women Mental Health section at World Psychiatry Association (WPA) and Board member of Rehabilitation Psychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK. Her dedication to the field of medical education and research is demonstrated through her role on the International Advisory Board of the Journal of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences and as the accreditation surveyor for the fellowship programs at National Institute for Health specialties, UAE. In addition, she leads the Behavioral health information system at EHS, spearheading the development of digital mental health solutions by integrating cutting-edge technologies with evidence-based practices.
