Zakkiya graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a B. A (Speech Therapy and Audiology), Masters in Early Childhood Intervention from the University of Pretoria and a certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is currently working in Tawam Hospital as Team Leader of Speech Language Therapist. Zakkiya has experience working with a variety of populations in both acute care and outpatients. Her areas of interest include early intervention and dysphagia. She is an advocate for early intervention and is passionate about working with patients and their families to promote social, emotional and behavioural health.
